Kyle Seis: Catching a Tumbling Shadow

January 30–March 22, 2026

Opening Reception: Friday, January 30, 6 pm–8 pm

Catching a Tumbling Shadow presents new paintings and sculptures that are rooted in an interest in the natural world and the spontaneity of perception. Play with various dualities occurs throughout - foreground and background / frame and image / sky and ground / day and night / still and wild. The works often start with a simple landscape element such as a field of grass, the night sky, or the surface of a river as a loose reference, and through intuitive response, elements and marks are added to engage with the previous version of the composition. One body eclipses another to form a new image.
